Dear client,
Last month we were present at the Movies that Matter festival in the Hague, Netherlands. In this newsletter Managing Director Rutger van der Wall explains LexisNexis’ reasons to attend to this festival and the importance of the Rule of Law.
Furthermore we inform you about new functionalities in Nexis and our Risk and Compliance portfolio.

| Rule of Law |
 |
There are still countries where the constitutional state, or Rule of Law, doesn’t exist, or at least not for everybody. Countries where extreme poverty forces parents to sell their children, where poorly educated people are forced into compulsory labor, where families are separated by war or conflicts.
What these people have in common is a lack of education and knowledge. They have no idea of their rights and can easily be exploited. As nobody seems really interested in the most vulnerable group of our societies, human traffickers and other criminals have a free hand.
As long as these extremely vulnerable people don’t know their rights and don’t know the government’s duties, corrupt officials are free to undertake their unlawful activities. There will be no sustainable social and economical development, no progress, and no justice.
This situation will only change with education. If the quality of education and development increases, people will be able to stand up against corruption, discrimination and injustice.
And that is why LexisNexis supports organizations fighting human trafficking, either locally or nationally. One of these organizations is the Somaly Mam Foundation.
And that is also why we fully support the movie production Redlight and the Movies that Matter festival. This festival is about human rights and human dignity and it stimulates discussion about these subjects. If you have any questions, or would like to contact LexisNexis about the war against human trafficking or about the Rule of Law, please feel free to do so by e-mail.

| New functionality Nexis |
 |
A brand new functionality in Nexis allows you to ‘deep link’ to results of a previously set up search. You can place the link on your intranet, in an e-mail message or in your CRM system.
With this new functionality your colleagues can process your search and access the results in Nexis. The icon on the far right hand side, the clipboard-with-chain, reflects the functionality.
Also new is the possibility to deliver news content in dual column format. Column printed news documents are more attractive and easier to read. You will get the dual column format by clicking the delivery icon of your choice and checking ‘Deliver in Two Columns’. See the screen shot.
Please note that the print option will ‘print’ to the PDF reader. You need to print the documents from your PDF reader.
This enhancement has been implemented in response to consistent customer feedback.
